I wont get into the whole "Tattoo as trendy" thing as this is well worn ground. I dont mind a few tat's on men as long as they are not on the face or neck. I absolutely hate tattoo's on women. From the obligatory tramp stamp to the ink on shoulder or back of neck I think it makes women look like cheap whores. But the one thing that really pisses me off is the tragedy or drama tattoo. It usually goes something like this. Dumb girl or guy goes into tattoo parlor with an excuse to get inked as a sign or symbol of personal growth or transition. It can be anything from getting clean from an addiction to breaking up with a boyfreind to health issues, death of a loved one or something as lame as getting ones drivers license. Nine times out of ten they just want to get a tattoo because they think its cool and looks bad ass! So just do it for that reason! Why the whole backstory? Why must everything be so artificially deep? Believe me. Mom looking down from heaven would probably not be too pleased that her little girl got a giant portrait tribute tat (which usually just look plain creepy. Especially ones of little kids.) on her back! This is why God gave you a memory and the Germans gave us good cameras. In the end, tattoo's are all about ego and have nothing to do with some lame message. So just admit it Ted! You got that Tat cause it looks cool! Want a conversation piece? Buy some artwork and stick it on your wall.
